My favorite app

I enjoy using this app where ever I go play golf, I take it with me on vacations and play golf anywhere, the only reason I did not gave it a five star rating was because on the bright sunny day it is a little hard to see it very clear. Every thing else is great!

Fast respone

Just reported there is an error on statistics and it is fixed in this version. Good job, keep going.

Nicely done

Cannot believe this. So many features can be done with so little input. Good job. Makes it so easy on the course, I dont really need to remember everything but just keep things simple for me.

Simple

Love the simplicity. Has the fewest pics of any of the apps Ive tried. This is a very useful update. Keep it coming. Text could be a little bigger for us folks who need reading glasses.

Efficient

Very easy and efficient to use. Tracks club performance and score with just two picks at each shot. Requires much less input/picks than other apps I have tried. Would like to have the ability to pause and resume play.

Review

Nice app. Needs a few tweaks like short, long and fringe added to shot results. But overall very happy with app

Shot tracking

Ive been looking for an app that will track my shot locations on the course. This is the only one I found. Once you get the hang of it, its real slick. Ties with my iPad so I can go home, have a cocktail and replay my shots. Good stats. Doesnt drain battery like some. Nice archive of rounds.

Great app

So far so good. A bit of work to get started but worth the effort Con: no worthwhile info inside of 40 yards just counts your strokes

Wonderful

This app is amazing for any level golfer. If your a beginner it helps to to find the trouble areas in your game and if your a mid to pro level player it helps you to truly customize every shot.

Great App at a Great Price

Once i got into the habit of recording each stroke (just 2 taps), the app did the rest. If you forget, just switch to manual mode. Wrote to tech support Sunday night regarding an error on one of their golf courses. I had a reply by the time I woke up Monday morning. Simple to use, inexpensive, great technical support. It doesnt get better than that. I wont play without it.

Worth the money

Love this app. Have been out four times since Ive purchased this and it is pretty close to being spot on. Stats area is also great. To bad it cant help me with my game. Takes a little while for the round to sync to the iPad version but it goes does sync eventually. Worth it!

Golf addict

Great app!! Really accurate, detail is incredible and makes you feel like a pro with all the tracking, stats and charts. Great job!! Love it.

Golf sites

Great app. Easy to use. Easy to load obscure courses quickly. Love the app.

Great golf app, esp. if you dont lots of courses.

Ive replaced my laser distance finder for most shots by using this app; I have found it to be pretty accurate with distances. My last round was comparable to my father-in-laws laser finder readings. Like any GPS rangefinder, this is particularly true if you focus more on landing in the middle of the green rather than the exact pin placement. The most helpful function is tracking average distances by club and is particularly great when paired with the iPad app to review rounds. Its pretty cool to review shot by shot what you did each hole when you get home. It keeps other statistics too - average putting strokes also is helpful. The interface takes a little getting used to and during that time your golf partners will probably complain that you are too obsessed with your phone, but once youre are comfortable with how the buttons are laid out on the main screen for each hole and navigating different screens, it is not overly distracting. The app keeps your score and can keep your partners scores. By recording each shot, the GPS calculates distances and gives you averages. It only records averages of 70% of longest so you dont have to worry about 1/2 swings or the occasional mishit. You can also remove shots in the review. You might think tracking each shot is time consuming, but you set up your bag beforehand so each shot is 2 quick clicks - where you are (rough, fairway, sand etc.) and the club and if youre using the app to give you distances before you select your club, it flows pretty logically. You can record your putts with one click each when youre walking off the green. Penalty strokes can be recorded at any time, so recording your own score is then automatic. The only annoyance is doing this for chipping around the green, where you do not need distances, because you will probably want to record the distance of your approach shot and the spot of your chip is the end point for your approach when the app records distances, but really not that bad. It provides not only distances like a typical GPS rangefinder to hazards and front/back of green, but provides you a video overview of the hole where you can point to various spots and see distance from your current location and distance from that spot to the middle of the green, which is really helpful with doglegs and planning your next shots. Then you just switch screens to record your shot. The GPS is not too bad on power particularly if you are using screen off button in between shots and holes. The app says 50% usage for iPhone 5, 75% for 4, and 100% for 3 over 18 holes. Thats accurate if you use screen off (which also pauses the GPS readings in screen off mode). I have a slim power pack from Radio Shack for my iPhone 4 just in case, but I havent had to use it to get in 18. Just remember to remove your pass code for the round, otherwise the screen-on gets tiring. The site has almost all courses in the US available and I believe international courses too, but heres the downside - its $0.99 per course to add, so if you play lots of different courses, the costs can add up. Overall, this is a useful tool to aid and track your round. Pros: Aerial picture of each hole with shot planning distance function, accurate GPS to hazards/green, auto-score keeping, average distance by club and other stats. iPad review app available. Cons: cost of adding courses.
